As part of the provincial autonomy process of INIP, the Delegate of INIP in Inhambane Province was inaugurated on 16 March. Dr. Vasco Lebre is a veterinarian and has been working in INIP since 2003.

CapacitaoBetween 30 May and 3 June, 2011, a capacity-building course on HYGIENE AND HEALTH and HACCP was held for Fish Processors of the company Café de Pesca. This course was organised by the Fisheries School with technical support by INIP and INFOSA.

Since 2009, INIP has been updating all legislation governing the fish inspection activity. As such, Decree 76/2009, of December 15

th, approved the General Regulations for Health and Hygiene Control of Foodstuffs of Aquatic Origin, which has already been published in the Official Gazette and as a brochure as well. To facilitate access to information of foreign investors, the brochure was published in Portuguese (link) and English (link).

 
SDAEs Trained in fish inspection PDF Print E-mail

From October to December 2010, a number of training events took place in provincial capitals and district headquarters targeting technicians from the District Services of Economic Activities (SDAE – Serviços Distritais de Actividades Económicas), some SDAE directors, community inspectors and others, focused on Fish Inspection. Overall, these events were attended by 107 persons coming from 57 districts (report link).
